What is a Liver / Spleen Scan?
Liver / Spleen Scans help diagnose
disorders such as cirrhosis, hepatitis, tumors, splenomegaly and other
problems in the digestive tract.
What takes place during the test?
A radionuclide material will be injected
in the arm followed by a scan of the abdominal area. During the scan,
you will lie on the imaging table with the camera positioned above or
below you while several images are taken.
How long will the test take to
complete?
Approximately 1 hour.
